GHOSTVPS / Connect
Connect to your Windows VPS with Remote Desktop
Find the correct connection details, open an RDP session and diagnose common connection failures.
Updated · GhostVPS

Before you start
An active Windows Server VPS, its assigned address, an authorised Windows account and a Windows PC. Replace the documentation address 203.0.113.10 and example port 3389 with the values provided for your service.
Get the service details
Sign in to GhostVPS Console and open the relevant service. Confirm that Windows installation has finished and collect the address, RDP port and Windows username supplied for that service. The Windows login may differ from your Console account. Do not guess the username or post the password in a ticket.

Open Remote Desktop on your own PC
Run the command below in PowerShell on your own Windows PC, not inside the server. The /prompt option asks for credentials instead of putting a password on the command line. Enter the Windows account assigned to this VPS. A successful connection opens the remote Windows desktop.
Your Windows PC · PowerShell
mstsc /v:203.0.113.10:3389 /prompt

Check the identity before signing in
Check that the destination matches your service. If a certificate warning appears, verify the certificate identity or fingerprint through a trusted service channel before accepting. Stop if it unexpectedly changes. Keep Network Level Authentication enabled; do not turn it off just to bypass an authentication error.

Diagnose a failed connection
Use the TCP check below with the actual address and port. TcpTestSucceeded: True means the port is reachable, not that the account is valid. If false, check power state, installation completion, the exact port, your connection and applicable firewall rules. Restrict RDP to your IP or a VPN where available; never disable the firewall as a shortcut. Use recovery access if provided or ask support.
Your Windows PC · PowerShell
Test-NetConnection -ComputerName 203.0.113.10 -Port 3389
Finish the first session safely
Change any temporary password, apply Windows updates in an appropriate maintenance window and disconnect when finished. Avoid sharing local drives unless needed. If support is required, send the service identifier, time, port and redacted error text; exclude passwords, access tokens and private keys.
